Summer Chess Choices
This summer, there is a variety of chess opportunities for your children.
The City of Lancaster’s Parks & Recreation Department is continuing its regular Friday, 4-5:30 pm Kids Club. However, the club is divided into two 5-week sessions so that you can choose both or simply the one that works around all your other summer plans.
Imagine City, the Children’s “Recreational Learning” Center that is a one-of-a-kind miniature indoor city and multi-faceted activity center in Palmdale is hosting A Taste of Chess. This class is being held 10-11 am on 8 consecutive Saturdays and will be full of brief lessons, lots of hands-on activities, and plenty of Teachable Moments.
Your children can also start their day with chess! By popular demand, AV Chess is starting a NEW chess club for all skill levels. This one is Mondays/Thursdays, 10-11:30 am, for 5 weeks this summer.
Of course, if your children would prefer a Summer Chess Camp, there’s the 10am-2pm, July 9-13 camp which will include lessons, competitions, chess variations, etc.
As always, if you don’t see a chess program that fits your needs contact Ms. Daa at firstname.lastname@example.org and if at all possible, she’ll create that program.
